Mixtape Roundup: B.o.B, Talib Kweli, Diddy, Raheem DeVaughn, Tennille, Rapsody

B.o.B is having a phenomenal year. In May, the Atlanta rapper dropped his debut solo LP B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which features arguably the biggest song of 2010 – “Nothing On You” (Featuring Bruno Mars). For his hard work, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences nominated him for five Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album.

But B.o.B is not resting on his laurels. He just released his new mixtape No Genre, which boasts new songs and a slew of guest features from Bun B, Cyhi da Prince, T.I. and Young Dro. It’s safe to say that B.o.B is in “Beast Mode” right now. Check out the mixtape below:

Talib Kweli released a new project called Community Mixtape, which features new music from Talib Kweli and artists on his Blacksmith Music roster. Standouts include “Chicken Soup for the Hip-Hop Soul” (featuring Talib, Iron Solomon and Jean Grae), “First Time” (featuring Consequence) and “Make Me Feel” (Featuring Strong Arm Steady).

All aboard! Diddy-Dirty Money are set to take listeners on a musical trip with their new album Last Train to Paris (in stores Tuesday). For the past week, the rap mogul has been on his promotional grind in support of the album. Diddy is also known for his fashion sense, so it’s only right that he teams up with fashion mag Vogue for a mixtape, which features top designers co-signing Diddy’s new music venture. The project is a teaser for the album, so click the link and enjoy the ride.

Following in the footsteps of Chris Brown and Trey Songz, Raheem DeVaughn drops a free R&B mixtape called Jackin 4 Beats. Just as the title states, the R&B crooner jacks beats from Songz (“Can’t Be Friends”), Brown (“Deuces”) and Drake (“Light It Up”) and adds his own flavor to the tracks. There are also five new songs on the collection, as well, including the standout “My Instrument” (featuring Skillz). Check out DeVaughn’s steamy video for “Single,” his reworking of the Lil Wayne song of the same name.

Up-and-coming Bronx rapper-singer Tennille created an interesting mixtape called 10illematic/10FDoom. The 10-track collection features Tennille rapping over 5 tracks from Nas and MF Doom apiece.

Nicki Minaj is not the only female rapper making noise in the rap game. North Carolina rhyme-slinger Rapsody is sparking up a movement behind her mixtape Return of the B-Girl. Fellow rappers Rah Digga, Big Daddy Kane, Skyzoo, and Laws make guest appearances on the mixtape, with production by 9th Wonder, Khrysis and others. Rapsody just dropped a new video for her latest single, “Honda Accord Music” (Remix) [Featuring Skyzoo & Thee Tom Hard].
