A good friend of mine showed me this the other day and it blew me away. Some of the evilest, coldest, most ill NY shit I’ve ever heard. Ultra-minimal thug melancholia covered in a thick coat of dust. If you only listen to one track on this list make it this one.
2. Pusha T feat. Tyler, The Creator – Trouble On My Mind
All hype aside, it’s been very exciting watching Tyler blow up this year and I think he deserves all of the praise he gets. This one’s my favorite thing he’s been involved in yet. Kind of flawless.
3. Danny Brown – Scrap Or Die
Danny Brown is my favorite new rapper. Crazy, crazy shit. The whole XXX record is great. Funny how one of this year’s albums most worthy of your money is free.
4. DBX – Spock’s Brain
A forgotten gem from the B-side of “Losing Control.” Masterfully hypnotizing composition. Almost inhuman, like Spock I guess….
5. Bootsy Collins – Space Bass Solo (Live Extract)
“Bring my space bass, man I got to play! Hurry up and bring my space bass, I got to play before I cum on myself!”

7. Isley Brothers – Footsteps In The Dark
Yeah.
8. Tony Allen – Moyege (Mark’s Mix)
Perfect blend of rhythm and texture from one of the greatest drummers ever, mixed by Mark and mastered by Moritz! This is a special one.
9. Clipse – Chinese New Year
I’ve been on such a Neptunes binge lately, and this is one of the evilest joints I think they’ve touched. Just listen.
