In honour of Poirier’s debut EP for Mixpak, Soca Road, dropping on the 17th January, the Montreal producer has given us a free slice of soca to prepare your ears. ‘Where Yuh From’ by Trini outfit Kes The Band was already a synthed-out party track but Poirier flips it into a hyper-energetic, bass-bin driven tune bound to test your wag-raving abilities.

Vybz may be on lock down, but the first single from the Mixpak released Kingston Story album, Go Go Wine is still in full effect. After dropping Rapper Turned Singer, and a free EP entitled APD005 last month, Andy Petr is still delivering an impressive amount of high quality material, so much so that we’re giving away the next in his series of EPs, APD006.
There are 8 tracks, some 11 minutes long, some just 1, all filled with classic Andy Petr: spaced-out, chopped up beats and mingling a whole heap of influences, from hip hop to acid.

“Go To the Club Alone” is a blazing DJ mix Juiceboxxx just dropped for Free Download. In his own words the mix is “uptempo music trying to tell a lil’ story about heading east and west from the heartland in search of something”. Cop this mix and “Don’t be afraid, go to the club alone.” Track list after the jump.
Andy goes H.A.M. on his remix of Lethal Bizzle’s powerhouse grime track “Pow 2011.” The remix maintains the heaviness of Bizzle’s original cut but with the slick synth burbles and layered percussive complexity that’s coming to define Petr’s sound. Andy’s released an EP and two new tracks in under a month, and with that is starting to gain a reputation as not only one of the youngest producers out right now, but also one of the most prolific.
