The 4th of October sees the release of Magnetic Man’s (aka Skream, Benga and Artwork) debut album and a few previews have been released to our eager ears. This track ‘Fire’ with Ms Dynamite is exactly what it says it is, pure fire, and has got us writing to YouTube to request they install a Rewind button right now. Check their ‘YouTube Takeover’ video here, where they talk about the release and things like ‘upside down bass’ and their love of Zapp and Roger. Magnetic Man a go burn dem!
The video for Benga’s Baltimore Clap just surfaced on the hyperspace: it’s his first official video for a track off his newest release Phaze One (Tempa049). The video follows a bunch of little monsters on their slightly terrifying journey in the Clap Factory. It’s directed by the Swedish Kristofer Ström (who made this video a couple of years ago) and it’s quite worth the watch, even if you’re one of the kids “who doesn’t believe in Benga anymore”. You masqueraders!
In 2009, DJ Zinc reemerged with the massive 10-track “Crack House EP” (which you can grab on Beatport) and if his recent teasers on SoundCloud are any indication, Zinc shows no signs of letting anytime soon.
