French magazine Tsugi just did a label spotlight on Mixpak and included a short interview with label-boss Dre Skull. Setting it off is a nice snap from Dre Skull’s recent trip to Atlanta to record with Lil Scrappy for an upcoming Mixpak release.

As a young label, we don’t have the PR muscle to break every record as hard as we’d like, but we’re keen to believe that quality releases will breakthrough…even if it takes some time. In that vein, we’re proud to relay that Fool’s Gold boss and DJ extraordinaire A-Trak has picked Dre Skull’s “I Want You (Dre Skull Remix)” as an honorable mention on his October Top 10 list. We’re more than pleased to grab that eleventh spot! Check out his full Top 10 for some other great cuts.
Limited pressings of “I Want You” are still available.
Mixpak Records is proud to present the official video for the Vybz Kartel single “Yuh Love.” Shot on location in Jamaica, starring Vybz Kartel, and directed by Terminal 4 Media.

The talented Pomp&Clout follow up their excellent work on the glitched out, grainy VCR tape “Jeffer” video with the beautifully trippy Dre Skull synth pop track “I Want You.” What starts off as a laid back karaoke-style cruise down the Vegas strip (if Las Vegas collided with Tron in space) turns into a ravey, visually gorgeous acid trip complete with gigantic casette tapes and sunglasses flying through the air.
The “I Want You” single with remixes from Bobmo, Bok Bok, AC Slater, Alex Gopher and Dre Skull can now be purchased on iTunes, and if you haven’t checked out the white vinyl Bok Bok VIP remix of “I Want You”, it just came back in stock at Boomkat. Huzzah!
