Mixpak New York

Big up Kissy Sellout for dropping four Mixpak tracks during his BBC Radio 1 show today! Likewise, big respect to Sinden for including the first Mixpak release—Dre Skull and Sizzla’s “Gone Too Far”—on his Mega Mega Mega 2009 Chart. Last but not least, our latest release, Sticky’s “Jumeirah Riddim EP,” is pushing for that number one spot on the Juno Bestselling Releases Chart. Thanks to all who are supporting our vision!

Nice way to end the week.

Buraka Som Sistema’s ‘Blood Diamond’ Mixtape Is Huge!!

July 27th, 2009

buraka live
Mixpak comrades Buraka Som Sistema are continuing their reign of destruction with the “Blood Diamond” mixtape. Featuring twenty two exclusive tracks consisting of exclusive Buraka re-edits, cameos from Afrikan Boy, Aloe Blacc, Blaya, Toy Selectah, and a mashup of Secousse and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine”, this is a stellar compilation of sounds spanning from kudoro to hip hop to cumbia to dubstep to ghettotech and back into pop music again, all mixed seamlessly by DJ Lil John (aka J-Wow).

And as if my eyeballs weren’t bugging out of my head enough like some awestruck cartoon character already, it’s absolutely free. After you finish throwing yr hands in the air and cheering, you can grab the “Blood Diamond Mixtape” for the perfect soundtrack to everything you’re going to be doing this summer.
