Melé has just served up this new mix for Enchufada’s Hard Ass sessions, featuring new material from the man himself, alongside tracks from Mosca, Geeneus, Mala, Sinden and more.

This Friday sees Melé join Rustie at The Nest in London. Click here to find out full details.

Daniel David Freeman, the man behind the artwork for both Melé’s Mixpak EPs – Bombay and Starlight – will be launching a new London exhibition this week, ‘Azalea’s Amazons’:
Beach London is proud to present a solo show from London based artist Daniel David Freeman. This show explores the life of fictional character, Rick Azalea. ‘Azalea’s Amazons’ is an exploration of the character’s inner most fantasies. Using the humble mediums of felt tip pen and paper, the artists invites the viewer to engage with a range of abstract and extraordinary characters who live only in the realm of Azalea’s imagination.
Opening 12th January for private view and showing until 1st February at Beach London. Check DDF’s site for more.

2012 is going to be a big year for Melé, who’s just dropped 3 brand new tracks-in-progress on his soundcloud. They’re beats that will eventually be vocalled before release but until then you can enjoy them in their full instrumental glory. Here’s our favourite, ‘Purple Flowers’, and head over to his soundcloud for more.

Mixpak favourite Wildlife! has been locked up in his recording studio for the best part of 2011, which can only mean that 2012 is going to be full of Wildlife goodness, including his debut full length, an EP and other secret projects he has yet to announce. He’s still had time to put together this New Year’s mix of some of his favourite tracks to play out over the past year, including our very own Dubbel Dutch, Melé and Poirier. Run it!
Bonne Année by Wildlife! on Mixcloud

This year has been Mixpak’s best year so far, seeing the release of the Dre Skull produced Vybz Kartel full length, Kingston Story, alongside a big line up of EPs and singles from Andy Petr, Dubbel Dutch, Schlachthofbronx, Lil Scrappy, Koyote and Melé.
Thank you to everyone who supported us by buying a record, wearing a tee or coming to Mixpak Extended Play in 2011. Next year is set to be even bigger, with releases from Popcaan, Poirier, Douster, Dre Skull, the launch of our compilation series and a heap more to be announced in January. Stay tuned and happy new year!
Toddla T ran Melé’s forthcoming release, ‘Beamer’, last week on BBC Radio 1, and someone thankfully ripped it onto YouTube so you can listen to it again (and again). Watch out for this one, dropping in 2012 complete with a vocal version.
