Even though the all conquering Federation Sounds Rihanna/Vybz mash up is great, watching Burgaboy vibing out to his own refix is amazing. Makes me wonder what could have been if her team had chosen bassline as the UK sound she wanted to emulate instead of dubstep.
Burgaboy VS Rihanna
January 10th, 2011Rihanna & Vybz – What’s My Name Remix
December 20th, 2010
How can some of the year’s biggest tunes just keep slipping in right at the end? Federation’s Max Glazer has put his magic touch to Rihanna’s ‘What’s My Name’, adding a knocking dancehall beat and some sweet patois Vybz to Ri-Ri’s sweet na-nahing…
Your name honeybunch, heartbeat, love bunny, sweety pie, darling, putus, mi sugar dumpling…
Drake, move out the way!
Rihanna feat. Vybz Kartel – What’s My Name (Federation Sound Remix)
[There is another Vybz/Rihanna remix on the same song that rehashes Vybz' vocal from 'Beat Up Di', but it's all about Federation's version]
Rude Gyal Riddim
August 28th, 2010
Remember that scorcher of a bashy ‘Rude Boy’ remix featuring Agent Sasco? Now Board House Records have made it into a full blown riddim, naturally titled the Rude Gyal Riddim. And who’ve they got to voice? Only JA’s finest rude gyals from the Ward 21 camp: Tifa, Timberlee, and D’Angel. Some serious feminist vibes gwaning here, from Tifa’s ‘Me love you, but me love me more’, to Timberlee’s goodas (and she’s still rocking that Clueless accent in the opening lines just like she did in the embarrassingly catchy ‘Heels’), while D’Angel goes straight in for the ‘fasten your seatbelt for this rude gyal’ line. The shoes on their feet, they bought ‘em.
D’Angel – Rude Gyal
Timberlee – Goodaz
Tifa – Greedy Greedy
